Recordings For Download & Practice
The recordings of jigs were made with a time signature of 3|8 and a tempo of 130 bpm. The 3|8 time signature provides the pulse of a jig. That is, two strong beats in each measure that are each divided into three notes. 6|8 does not naturally create the two beat pulse required in a jig.
To slow down the tempo of the recordings without changing the pitch of the instruments, use software such as Audacity or Amazing Slowdowner. Information about these tools are at THIS LINK. To play along, simply loop the recordings in your playback software.
Instrumentation includes bouzouki, tenor banjo, guitar and bodhran. All recordings are mono.
