Sunset on Big Gut

Big Gut is the largest slough on Chincoteague Island.  It runs about half way through the Island from south to north.  A century ago when winters were very cold, Big Gut would freeze.  Islanders enjoyed ice skating on Big Gut.  Today the Big Gut is line with homes.  I composed this tune for friends who. built a home along Big But.  To get the theme started, I visited their building site.  Late one day while look out over Big Gut I heard a bird sing.  That bird song gave me the motif for this tune.
