Improving the Voice of a Low Cost Bodhran

This technique works ONLY on bodhrans that have natural skin heads
If you want to improve the sound of a low-end drum OR if you want to collect and experiment with drums, this is THE technique for you!

Watch this ten-minute YouTube by Paul Marshall.  He demonstrates how to make a cheap bodhran sound like a passable drum.  The process does not require much skill.  The materials are simply sandpaper and electrical tape.

I have successfully done this on my own drums and a number of student drums.  Everyone always comes away happy!

If you want to improve the sound of a low-end drum OR if you want to collect and experiment with drums, this is THE technique for you!
