Shacks And Chalets

A song written by Pete Sutherland in the 1980s.  It tells the story of the huge culture and economic gap in the Appalachian region.  But, Pete's point of view is summed up in this verse:

I guess it's wrong to even notice when you're only passing through
If folks down there accept things, I guess I should too.

Early

A song written by Greg Brown in 1980.  It's tells of the charm presented by a small town.

Bandits Of The Waist

Allen and I wrote this spoof of the diet industry. You may recognize the tune as the 19th century ballad Lilly of the West.

Where Do I Sign

I wrote this song when so many friends  were settling down and making big choices between love and career.  To their great credit, most everyone I knew choose love over career.

A Little Mixed Up

A funny song written by a song writing team who never met.  The lyrics originated in a poem written by Luvie Butler Moore Pearson [widow of the famous columnist Drew Pearson] on the occasion of her 80th birthday.  The music was written by my friend Saverio Minnicucci from Philadelphia

Satisfied Mind

A classic statement of truth conveyed by a song.  Joe "Red" Hayes and Jack Rhodes released this stunning song in 1955.  It's been covered by hundreds of artists.  No matter what the mood of the decdes may be,  Satisfied Mind always rings true.

Boomers

Allen and I wrote this song to make fun of our own generation.   We employed icons of the baby boomers and wonderful Do-Wop music style from the 1950s.
