ABC notation

ABC Notation was created during the late 20th century as a means to share traditional music among people who either did not own the same software platform or could not read standard notation.  It’s incredibly useful and easy to use. I STRONGLY recommend that everyone who plays traditional music (Irish, Scottish, Scandinavian, etc) give ABC notation a hard look.  Read about the history of ABC notation at this link:  http://abcnotation.com/history

This free reader is probably all you need in order to make use of ABC notation
https://sourceforge.net/projects/easyabc/

To use Easy ABC simply paste in the abc code.  The reader will automatically generate the standard notation for the tune.  Hit the play button to hear the tune.  It's that simple!
